Hanbel rugs

Carpets Hanbel Kilim BerberWoven carpets produced in the northern Morocco (Rabat and Mid-Atlas) named Kilim.

The word kilim comes from the Persian gelim where it means 'to spread roughly'. Kilims can be purely decorative or can function as prayer rugs but nowadays, kilims are popular floor-coverings in Western households.

Kilims are produced by tightly interweaving the warp and weft strands of the weave to produce a flat surface with no pile. Those Woven carpets are often hand made for a personal use and not for trade.

In a Moroccan Living room, the Hanbel Rugs can be used with many decorative styles.
